Stitching for a Cause

Earlier this year, Pumpkin let us join in on her celebration and asked for stitchers to participate in Attic Needlework's Annual Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Research through the Pumpkin Patch & Co Breast Fund.  Well, I'm running a little further behind than I'd like since the auction date is coming up quickly, but I mailed my donation piece today.

Goodies in my Mailbox!

This past week some wonderful treats landed in my mailbox!  I haven't posted them yet due to a combination of having a crazy week and gross grey weather...  the weather didn't get any better this weekend, but I figured a posting was due anyways :)

First up ~ I was extremely lucky and had my name drawn as the Day 2 winner in Annette & Missy Ann's 31 Days of Halloween giveaway.  Missy Ann's package seemed to take the long way to my house (just like the last time when I sent a package to her!) but it arrived this week, and I just love it!!

You can't even imagine how loudly I squealed when I opened the package and saw this little gem after how I coveted the one Missy Ann sent out for the HoE Halloween exchange!

And speaking of the Halloween Exchange, I also received this package of goodies from Kelrain...

Kelrain chose to stitch me a BBD stocking and she finished it perfectly!  She included a package of Piecemaker needles and two skeins of HDF silks, which I haven't been able to stop touching since I opened her package!

Thank you so much ladies, you two made my October!  Now to find the right place to show off my goodies :)

Thought of the Day

Life is 10% what you make it and 90% how you take it!

This little saying went through my inbox today and I had to share as I think it's oh so true...

TTE Too Pinkeep for Audrone

I saw on the TTE Too blog that Audrone received the pinkeep I made for her in the Pinkeep Exchange.  This was the first pinkeep I had made and I was pretty excited with how it turned out.  I think there's a couple of things I might do differently next time, but that's always how it goes :)  That's what one of my favorite things about exchanging has been, the challenge of trying new finishes!

Sew Easy
32ct Belgium Linen
DMC Variations 4200

The pinkeep is backed with the fabric shown in the last picture.  Audrone posted some really nice pictures too, you can see them on her blog here

I'm glad to see you like it Audrone.  I'm so happy it arrived safely & quickly!

I'm amazed to see that I'm approaching 100 followers!  Welcome to all my new visitors, I hope you enjoy what you see and will keep coming back for more...  I think there may be call for another giveaway after the big 1-0-0 is reached, but I have to finish my piece for the Attic Needlework's auction through the Pumpkin Patch & Co Breast Fund first!  That HAS TO hit the mail this week!!

Thank you for stopping by today!

HoE Halloween Exchange for Amy

Earlier this week I heard from Amy that she received the HoE Halloween Exchange I sent to her.  I chose a design from this year's JCS Halloween issue and finished it as a scissor fob.  Amy says this is the first scissor fob she's ever received, so I guess I chose the right type of finish!

Thank you for visiting today...  I hope all my Canadian friends enjoyed some turkey this weekend!  And I hope this week goes quickly for you, those short weeks tend to be the worst!!

~ The PIF Participants ~

I had two people willing to participate in my PIF, Aubree and Casey.  This should be fun as both of these gals are practically neighbors of mine!  Thanks Ladies!!  I'm sending you emails and don't forget to offer the PIF on your blogs...

The rules did state three though, so to fulfill my obligation I will be sending out a RAK somewhere from the addresses I've collected from the blogging buddies I've made in the past year.  But if someone still wants to sign up, I'll still gladly take one more :)

Thanks so much to everyone who stops by, I appreciate your visits and comments :)  And to all my Canadian friends, enjoy your turkey day!!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Paying it Back... or Forward!

I've been thinking about paying it back and decided that step one would be to Pay It Forward... Thanks to Kelrain, I was selected to be one of her participants and therefore can offer it to you!  So, in the spirit of a PIF, the rules:
  • Three participants (if there are more than three people looking to join in on the fun, I will draw three names next Friday October 8)
  • The three people selected must host a PIF of their own
  • I will send something handmade to the three participants sometime in the next 365 days ♥
So ~ is anybody game?

Psst...  did you see the 31 Days of Halloween giveaway hosted by Annette and Missy Ann???  Jump over to Annette's blog to enter today's drawing!
