Stitch Red for Your Heart Exchange for Faye

I received the most wonderful, sweetest email from Faye tonight letting me know that the piece I stitched for her for the Stitch Red for Your Heart exchange arrived in its new home.

Quaker Scissor Fob
by Sharon Manspeaker @ Cross Stitch Happy
32ct Mushroom Lugana & DMC
freebie found here

And some goodies too...

Unfortunately this piece and I didn't get along... AT ALL!!  I think I spent almost as much time frogging this piece as I did stitching it, which explains all the red in my last TUSAL post!  I was almost finished and found a major counting error which ended up in restitching almost the entire back side of the fob!  Grrr...  But in the end I love how it turned out, and I love the new coffee cozy pattern I found that crocheted for Faye too.  (I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing more of these!)

Thanks again for the lovely email Faye...  I'm soo happy you are enjoying your exchange, and thanks for your patience!

Wishing you all a wonderful Friday tomorrow (yipee!) and an awesome weekend ahead :)  Hockey has wrapped up for us for the season now (yipee again!) and I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend...  I don't think we have ANY plans for Sunday, and with fingers crossed that I won't have to go in to work, I don't even think I'm going to get dressed!  haha!  We're rolling full gear into the our busiest time of year, only 39 more sleeps until our tax filing deadline!!  So, needless to say, it might be a little quiet around here over the next few weeks.  Hopefully it will be a better year than last year (323 hours in the month of April alone) and I won't be away too much...  I get grumpy when I get behind on my stitchy bloggy reading :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Your visits and comments are appreciated more than you know :)

Stitch Red Exchange from Diana

Today's mail brought my Stitch Red for your Heart Exchange from Diana.  Such a sweet package to be sure.  Diana stitched a tiny little needlebook for me full of specialty stitches, and sent along this great bag too :)

{my apologies for the totally crappy picture}

And a closeup of the needlebook (with a much better photo!)...

A nice treat for a Monday, for sure!  Thanks Diana!  Now if the package I sent out would only arrive at its location...

This last weekend was a busy, busy, busy one!  We had dance competition on Friday and then filled Saturday and Sunday with 5 hockey games between the two kidlets... It was playoffs, unfortunately my son got knocked out on Saturday and didn't place, but my girl played four games this weekend and her team finished 3rd.  An awesome finish for a team that were considered the underdogs by many teams in their division.

{a pic of my little guy from the weekend}

Since I knew I would be spending many hours at the rink this weekend, I decided it would be a perfect time to start a new blanket :)  Friday night I started the Log Cabin Granny from Dutch Girl Diary.

I am loving this!  There'a almost one more full round of colors on it already, it's so bright & cheery, just perfect for the gloomy, snowy, rainy first day of spring!

Thank you for stopping by today!

A Giant Granny Square

I finished this blanket about a month ago, but just got around to taking pictures tonight...  We're babysitting my nephew right now and I figured they should be able to finally take his blanket home with him :)

Granny Square Blanket
Red Heart Baby Clouds
Blue Sky & Aquamarine

This blanket started out differently than how it ended up... it was frogged twice actually!  First it was a blanket I saw in Crochet Today, but it just "wasn't right", so apart it came.  Then I decided it would be a granny stripe #2, and wasn't happy with that either.  So that got ripped apart too and a simple, giant granny square turned out to be just what I was looking for.

Thank you for stopping by today!

TUSAL Posting

TUSAL time again ~ already!  February flew by for me,  it just felt like I blinked and it was gone!!  So here's what I was up to last month...

As you can tell ~ all stitching was RED!  And unfortunately, I was hit with a case of the frogs too :'(  I found a major counting error in my exchange piece which ended up with me having to redo half of the piece I was working on and missing the mailing date.  Grrr, I was mad at myself!  These things happen, but I don't want to be known as one of "those"...  I guess I just need to redeem myself and mail early with the next one, but not until after tax season is over and life resumes as normal!

Since February absolutely FLEW by for us, I'm focusing on trying to slow things down around here...

Thank you for stopping by today, I'm wishing all of you a fantastic weekend!  Hopefully this "slowing down" that I'm trying to accomplish will work and I'll be back before another three weeks passes by...
